New Focus, Same Old Amy

New Focus, Same Old Amy

Hi Everyone!

It's been a while since I've updated this site because I took some time off to think about new directions and goals for myself. The last couple of years have been weird for all of us (that's an understatement) but the extra time at home brought me back to one of my lifelong passions - crafting and creating.

I grew up with a mom who was a professional seamstress and crafter. She made wedding and prom dresses, designed and made wedding veils, wrapped beautiful gifts with ornate bows, and she made me toys including a stuffed horse - that I named "Horse" - that I almost loved to pieces. I'm so grateful that she passed on many of these skills to me and throughout my life, I have turned to crafting with my hands as a way to relax, express myself, and even meditate and find focus. It's that thing I do that I never tire from and makes me lose track of time.

During the long months of the pandemic, I focused on crochet. I'm obsessed and have really enjoyed getting to know other people in the crochet community and even participate in some community crochet art installations. I love crochet so much I decided to shift my EARTHMANIA site to a place where people can learn, share, and nurture their love of crochet and crafting!

I also love to teach (my degree is in music education!) and I will be posting tutorials here and on YouTube for people who want to learn crochet skills. And I starting learning how to create resin pieces from molds, so stay tuned for that!

From time to time, I'll also post items I've made for sale, because my house is starting to get crowded. The yarn is taking over. Help.

One final thing: If you came here for bamboo toothbrushes, you can still get those too :)

Now, let's make stuff!
